Another Great Auction 11th December
A WWI Belgian Yser Medal, featuring a black and orange striped ribbon suspending a circular bronze-tone medal. The obverse depicts a standing allegorical female figure with a trident and shield beside a lion, with a partially visible date “1914” near the bottom edge. The suspension mount incorporates a wreath-like design with visible initials, possibly ‘M’ or ‘W’. The reverse displays partially legible text, “…SER…” at the bottom.
Accompanied by a second bronze-tone medal, a cross pattee with a solid dark red ribbon. The obverse features a central design of a crown surmounted by a rampant lion, with the English text “FOR VALOUR” on a scroll below. The reverse is plain.
