Another Great Auction 11th December
This lot comprises three modern religious figurines. The largest is an unpainted white statue depicting a draped female figure, possibly the Virgin Mary, with hands clasped in prayer, resting on a cloud-like base adorned with cherubs. This piece appears to be molded from plaster or a similar composite material. The central figurine is brightly painted, portraying a haloed female saint with a floral headband, holding what appear to be palm fronds and arrows, dressed in red, yellow, and purple robes with hands in prayer. This piece is likely painted plaster or ceramic. The smallest figurine, also painted, depicts a crowned female figure consistent with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, holding a flaming heart with a red jewel accent, standing on a green and black base. This piece is likely plaster or resin, and its black base is inscribed in English: “LOVE BEARS ALL THINGS, BELIEVES ALL THINGS, HOPES ALL THINGS, AND ENDURES ALL THINGS. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:7.”
