Another Great Auction 11th December
This lot comprises two distinct military-style medals. The first is a Non-Article 5 NATO Medal for Former Yugoslavia, a bronze-toned circular medal depicting a four-pointed star (resembling a compass rose) within a circle, framed by a laurel wreath. It is suspended from a blue ribbon with two white vertical stripes, which also features a bronze bar inscribed “FORMER YUGOSLAVIA.” A separate, smaller ribbon bar matching the main ribbon is also included. This set is housed in a black hinged box with a cream-colored felt interior. The second item is an East German Reservist Medal (NVA), a copper-toned circular medal portraying a profile bust of a helmeted soldier, encircled by the text “RESERVIST DER NATIONALEN VOLKSARMEE” (Reservist of the National People’s Army) and a partial laurel wreath. Above the medal, a triangular metal device, colored black, red, and yellow, features a stylized compass and hammer-and-pick emblem along with the initials “NVA.” This item is presented in a white box with a red velvet-like interior.
