Another Great Auction 11th December
A collection of numerous letterpress printing blocks, predominantly constructed from wood with many featuring attached metal (likely lead or zinc) plates for the printing surface. The assortment encompasses various image and text blocks, displaying diverse styles. Notable illustrations include a detailed figure possibly on horseback, a stylized bearded man resembling a sailor or captain, and a block with a floral or clover motif. Visible text includes a large wooden block featuring a grid of what appears to be Chinese characters, another block with the reversed text “A. P. DONG’S” alongside the clover motif, and a smaller block displaying the reversed word “THA AKI”. The blocks are largely contained within a white plastic tray, which bears an auction or inventory sticker marked “1023”.
