Another Great Auction 11th December
This lot presents a varied collection of predominantly ceramic and porcelain household and decorative items. A distinct cream-colored decorative transferware plate features a central polychrome depiction of two snipe in a marsh landscape, encircled by an intricate brown scroll and motif border. The reverse of this plate is clearly marked “Mason’s Ironstone Made in England Game Birds ‘The Snipe’ (Gallinago Coelestis) Permanent Detergent Proof Decoration.” Also included is a tall, modern cylindrical two-tone vase with a glossy dark brown lower half and matte white upper portion. A new, packaged crackle-glaze green ceramic toilet brush holder with a metallic handle is present. The grouping further comprises a group of plain white ceramic cups, saucers, and a bowl. A round blue and white patterned ceramic planter is also part of the lot. Completing the collection are three decorative lidded boxes: two round with pink floral motifs on a white ground, and one smaller rectangular box with a polychrome decorated lid.
