Another Great Auction 11th December
A bottle of James Eadie’s Trade Mark X Blended Scotch Whisky, presented in its accompanying black cardboard presentation box. The contemporary clear glass bottle is sealed with a gold-colored screw cap and contains an amber-hued liquid. Both the bottle’s label and the box feature prominent gold-colored text, including ‘JAMES EADIE’S’, ‘ESTABLISHED 1854’, a large ‘X’ trade mark, ‘BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKY’, ’80° PROOF’, ‘45.6% vol.’, and ’70cl e’ / ‘700ml’. Visible dates on the label include ‘Established 1854’, ‘Registered 1877’, and ‘Revived 2017’, alongside the name ‘Norman Mathison’ and a signature ‘V. H. Mathison’. The box also displays the text ‘It is an open secret, that ‘a wee drappie’ of Mr. Eadie’s own blend of Scotch whisky is here dispensed to a favoured few. ALFRED BARNARD, 1889.’
