Another Great Auction 11th December
A bottle of James Eadie’s Trade Mark ‘X’ Blended Scotch Whisky, presented with its original black cardboard presentation box. The clear glass bottle features paper labels in gold and brown, detailing “Established 1854,” “80° PROOF,” “45.6% vol.,” a prominent “TRADE X MARK,” and “70cl / 700ml.” Further text on the label indicates “Registered 1877” and “Revived 2017” by “Norman Mathison,” with a “D. H. Mathison” signature as “Master Blender.” The box reiterates these details and includes a historical quote: “It is an open secret, that ‘a wee drappie’ of Mr Eadie’s own blend of Scotch is here dispensed to a favoured few. Alfred Barnard. 1889.” The bottle has a gold-colored screw cap marked “JAMES EADIE LTD.”
