Another Great Auction 11th December
A modern clear glass bottle of James Eadie’s Trade Mark X Blended Scotch Whisky, containing amber liquid and sealed with a gold-colored metal cap. The bottle is presented within its original black cardboard slipcase with gold foil printing. Both the bottle and box are extensively labeled, prominently displaying “JAMES EADIE’S,” “ESTABLISHED 1854,” a large “TRADE X MARK,” “BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKY,” “80° PROOF,” and “45.6% vol.” The bottle indicates a volume of “70cl e” and “700ml,” while the box specifies “700ml.” Further visible text includes “BLENDED & BOTTLED IN SCOTLAND,” along with dates “Established 1854,” “Registered 1877,” and “Revived 2017,” and a printed signature “D. H. Mathison” by “Master Blender: Norman Mathison.” The box also features a quote: “It is an open secret, that ‘a wee drappie’ (a small drink) of Mr. Eadie’s own blend of Scotch is here dispensed to a favoured few.” attributed to Alfred Barnard, 1885.
