Another Great Auction 11th December
A decorative rectangular lidded box, described as a Chinese inlaid porcelain box. The exterior features ornate, darkened brass or bronze corner mounts and a front clasp, framing a vibrant green top panel adorned with polychrome painted depictions of playful children amidst floral elements. The sides are decorated with a repetitive floral and geometric pattern. The box opens to reveal a white ceramic interior with blue underglaze decoration: the lid depicts birds in a landscape, and the base shows a traditional building. The exterior bottom surface is a crackled green glaze, centered with a red seal mark reading “乾隆年製” (Qiánlóng Nián Zhì), which translates to “Made in the Qianlong reign.”
