Another Great Auction 11th December
A Chinese Natural Jadeite Jade carving depicting Maitreya Buddha (Budai) with two playful children. The jovial Budai figure is seated, holding a staff-like object and a string of beads. A large, leaf-shaped element or sack is positioned behind the main figure. The material exhibits a translucent quality with a predominant pale greenish-white to off-white coloration and natural inclusions. The carving is mounted on a fitted, dark brown, carved wooden display stand.
