Another Great Auction 11th December
A pair of vintage ceramic sculptural groups by Guenouslman, Paris, Made in France, exhibiting a whimsical, folk art aesthetic. The first group depicts a bearded man, dressed in a red and black plaid shirt and patched trousers, seated on a white bench beneath a dense green textured tree. A small bottle and food bowl are present on the table next to him. The second group features a round, multi-colored kiosk or pavilion with a small figure inside, flanked by three similar textured trees and enclosed by a green low wall or fence. Both pieces are set on irregular, earthy-toned bases. The underside of one piece is visibly marked with an impressed “MADE IN FRANCE”, a script signature appearing to read “Guenouslman”, and “PARIS”.
