Another Great Auction 11th December
A lot comprising two vintage advertising boxes. The first is a gold-colored rectangular metal tin for ‘Black Cat Virginia Cigarettes,’ featuring a black cat logo and internal text detailing ‘Carreras Limited, Arcadia Works, London N.W.1.’ The tin’s interior contains several foil-wrapped blocks, likely original cigarette packets, each bearing a small ‘Black Cat’ label. The second item is a blue rectangular cardboard box, labeled ‘B&M Book Matches ‘De Luxe’,’ stating ‘BRITISH MADE’ and ‘CONTENTS 1 DOZEN BOOKS’ by ‘BRYANT & MAY.’ Its lid interior features a colorful illustration of an 18th-century-style lady in a garden with the text ‘FOR MY LADY.’ This box contains twelve smaller matchbooks in alternating red, green, and blue, each marked ‘De Luxe’ and with a ‘B&M’ logo.
