The majority of the collection consists of Franklin Library editions, uniformly bound in various colors including dark blue/black with gilt decorative spines and titles, red with gilt lion rampant emblems, and light brown/tan with gilt rectangular frames. Noted titles include works by Henry Fielding (“TOM JONES I,” “TOM JONES II”), Captain Marryat (“MR. MIDSHIPMAN EASY”), Sir Walter Scott, Tolstoy (“WAR AND PEACE”), W. Somerset Maugham (“COMPLETE WORKS,” titles such as “FIRST PERSON SINGULAR,” “CREATURES OF CIRCUMSTANCE,” “CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY,” “CAKES AND ALE”), John Steinbeck (“THE GRAPES OF WRATH,” “TRAVELS WITH CHARLEY,” “CANNERY ROW,” “SWEET THURSDAY,” “EAST OF EDEN,” “THE LONG VALLEY,” “THE WAYWARD BUS”), Thomas Hardy (“FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD”), and Macaulay (“HISTORY OF ENGLAND” Vol. II, III, IV). These books are primarily housed within a pink cardboard box with “Pink Lady” branding. Accompanying this collection is one large, heavily embossed brown book featuring a brass clasp, labeled “HOLY BIBLE.”
