A Chinese patinated bronze bowl, featuring a central ‘壽’ (shòu) character, meaning ‘longevity,’ highlighted in a vibrant blue-green enamel or pigment on the interior. The exterior is extensively decorated in relief with stylized mythical creatures, likely dragons or phoenixes, circling the body, above a base rim adorned with a geometric meander pattern. The recessed base also bears the same ‘壽’ character rendered in blue-green. The bowl displays a dark, aged surface with some lighter metallic wear.
