Another Great Auction 11th December
A decorative table lamp featuring a central figural sculpture of a seated, likely Southeast Asian (specifically Thai or Khmer-influenced) figure playing a stringed instrument. The figure is made of resin or a composite material, exhibiting a deliberately crackled, aged cream finish with gold-painted accents on its garments and headpiece. Three arched stems, wrapped in a natural fiber, rise from behind the figure, each topped with a spherical light shade crafted from intricately perforated coconut shell. The entire assembly rests upon a dark circular base, surrounded by an elaborate arrangement of cut and textured coconut shell pieces, forming a stylized lotus or floral motif. Visible black electrical cords confirm its function as an illuminated object. No discernible text or manufacturer markings are visible.
Approximately 30 inches (76.2 cm) high, 20 inches (50.8 cm) wide.
