Another Great Auction 11th December
A vintage industrial-style electronic aviation instrument, identified by its label as a “ZERO READER FLIGHT DIRECTOR TYPE ZL 2” and a “COMBINED HEADING SELECTOR/CONTROL PANEL.” It was manufactured by “MINNEAPOLIS HONEYWELL REGULATOR CO., AERONAUTICAL DIVISION,” and bears the visible part number “P.R. NO. 16370-0 (6A/M417).” The instrument is primarily constructed of a black-painted cylindrical metal body, from which a flexible, braided hose extends to a threaded metal connector. A “MODIFICATIONS” label with handwritten numbers “A254, A263, A272” is present, alongside a yellow sticker marked “1009.” The lower section of the body transitions into a control panel featuring a circular dial marked with cardinal directions such as “N,” “33,” “3,” and operational indicators including “FLT. INST.,” “INBOUND,” “OUTBOUND,” “10°,” “5°,” and “PITCH.” The panel is further equipped with three toggle-style control knobs and one smaller knurled knob.
