Another Great Auction 11th December
A collection of five vintage industrial measuring instruments, likely dating from the mid-20th century, displaying various functions. The assortment includes: a large rectangular black-cased galvanometer marked “GALVANOMETER,” “Crompton,” “D.C.,” “2.0-2.0 mA,” and “50 OHMS”; a smaller circular silver-toned oil gauge marked “OIL” and “Sterling”; a brass-cased pressure or temperature gauge with an attached valve assembly, marked “LOCK,” “RESET,” “lb/in²,” and “°C” with a scale up to 3000; a black ribbed circular gauge marked “SPENCER” and “MADE IN ENGLAND” with a 0-40 scale; and a circular black-cased ammeter marked “AMPERES,” “BARNSLEY,” and “C.E.A.G.” with a 0-10 scale. Construction materials primarily include brass, steel, and black bakelite or early plastic for the casings, all featuring glass dial covers.
