Another Great Auction 11th December
A collection of vintage military-specification electronic components, comprising approximately seven cardboard boxes. Several boxes are sealed, while one open box reveals internal packing and a polished metallic component, consistent with a quartz crystal in a special holder. Labels affixed to multiple boxes identify the manufacturer as ROOKES CRYSTALS LTD from 8-53, GREENWICH CHURCH STREET, LONDON, S.E.10, directly dating the items to August 1953. Further prominent markings on some boxes specify ‘Admiralty Patt. Z 3770,’ ‘Quartz Crystal, 500 Kc/s.,’ and confirm ‘in special holder.’ Other labels on different boxes denote ‘LV6/MT4 47267,’ ‘CLIP, TERMINAL,’ ’50 AMP,’ and ‘QTY. 12.’ A warning sticker states, ‘NOT TO BE OPENED UNTIL REQUIRED FOR USE.’
