Another Great Auction 11th December
A group of five ornamental brooches, comprising four Scottish grouse foot brooches and one feather brooch. The four grouse foot brooches feature taxidermied animal paws, likely from a small mammal, covered in light-toned fur, each mounted with silver-tone metal caps and fittings, and set with faceted glass stones in amber or deep red hues. The fifth brooch is distinct, featuring a circular, repoussé-decorated silver-tone metal disc with a central amber-colored faceted glass stone, from which extends a vibrant fan of natural feathers in greens, blues, oranges, and browns, alongside bare quills. The overall style aligns with traditional Scottish sporting or Highland attire, popular from the Victorian era onward.
