Another Great Auction 16th December
A pair of decorative models, confirmed to be constructed from Coal, featuring a deep matte black finish. The lot comprises two distinct pieces: a streamlined steam locomotive model and a separate miniature building facade. The locomotive is mounted on a rectangular base simulating a section of rail track, incorporating a fixed tender with simulated coal load. The streamlined design is suggestive of mid-20th-century aerodynamic steam engines. The accompanying building model depicts a two-story structure, possibly a terraced worker’s cottage, featuring highly textured stonework, multiple window and door details, and two roofline chimneys. The facade is mounted on a simulated uneven ground base. The locomotive model is approximately 12” long, and the cottage model is approximately 4” tall. No visible manufacturer marks or inscriptions are present on either piece.
Locomotive length: 12 inches. Cottage height: 4 inches.
