Another Great Auction 16th December
A figural mantel clock executed in the Louis XV style, likely dating to the 19th century. The clock features a gilt bronze or brass (ormolu) case set on scrolled feet, incorporating a central frieze of white marble or stone. The case is surmounted by a large standing elephant figure with a raised trunk, resting on a rocky base detailed with foliage. The clock face is white enamel or porcelain, featuring black Roman numeral hour markers and minute dashes, utilizing spade-style hands. The movement is accessed from the rear, revealing brass components and visible markings on the plate reading IV and 2510. The lot includes the main clock and three accessory components: one winding key, one small cylindrical piece, and one heavy circular disc, likely the pendulum component, totaling four items.
