Another Great Auction 16th December
A vintage scientific instrument identified as a High Sensitivity Galvanometer, manufactured by the Cambridge Instrument Co. Ltd., England. The instrument features a cubical housing constructed of polished wood, supporting a tall, centralized brass cylindrical tube. An engraved brass plaque confirms the manufacturer and specifications: HIGH SENSITIVITY GALVANOMETER, No L-55334, RESISTANCE 13.64 OHMS AT 20°C. The front panel includes a brass-framed glass observation window, two large black ebonite control knobs, and a small integrated brass and glass bubble level mounted between two terminals. The assembly rests on a circular black baseplate, which is marked with the painted red inventory number 793. The base is supported by brass leveling feet. This type of instrument is often associated with museum collections, reflecting its historical importance in electrical physics.
