Another Great Auction 16th December
A single sculptural art glass dish, attributed to Murano, Italy, and styled as a clam shell or folded bowl, characteristic of Mid-Century Modern design. The vessel is composed of thick, heavy glass with an organic, free-form shape. The interior basin features a deep translucent plum or amethyst hue. The complex, asymmetrical rim and scrolled accenting element are defined by a casing of very dark, near-black glass. This casing is detailed internally with a copper or gold-toned inclusion, likely aventurine, emphasizing the contours. No discernible manufacturer markings, signatures, or acid etchings are visible.
Approximately 6.5 inches wide.
