A collection of two items crafted from compressed coal material, typical of handcrafted mining memorabilia. The primary piece is a sculptural tableau depicting two male figures in mining attire, wearing hard hats with attached lamps. The central figure is seated on a simulated rock formation, rendered with an expressive face, appearing to wipe his brow or shout. The second figure kneels behind him, holding a long, thin metal rod that spans the scene. The second item is a separate, cylindrical miniature safety lamp model, also rendered in coal, featuring a domed, riveted top and an integrated metal keyring loop. Both items exhibit a detailed, realistic style. Neither item displays visible manufacturer markings or inscriptions.
