A single Mid-Century Modern West German ceramic handled jug or vase (Krug) constructed from textured stoneware. The vessel is finished in a matte sandy ochre glaze with dark brown accents, characteristic of the ‘Fat Lava’ or textured stoneware style. The form features a cylindrical body rising to a narrow, ridged neck, a wide lip, and an applied loop handle. The body is decorated with high-relief molded quatrefoil or four-leaf clover motifs separated by bands of incised geometric patterns. The base is marked with the impressed text “489-23” and “W. GERMANY,” indicating its origin and model number.
