Another Great Auction 16th December
A single cylindrical ceramic vase attributed to Scheurich-KERAMIK, characteristic of the West German Art Pottery style, commonly referred to as Fat Lava. The heavy earthenware body features a high-gloss, flowing glaze applied in a banded pattern. The decoration consists of dark chocolate brown glaze covering the rim and the lower portion of the body, contrasted by a broad central band of vibrant, dripping red-orange glaze with black and beige undertones, creating a distinctive lava effect. This vintage piece is representative of Mid-Century Modern design from the 1960s or 1970s. The base is partially glazed brown and bears impressed markings indicating the model number 209-78 and the country of origin, W.GERMANY.
The vase measures approximately 7 inches in height.
