Another Great Auction 16th December
A collection of six decorative figurines depicting Budai, the Laughing Buddha, executed in molded resin or a similar composite material. The collection includes two distinct finishes: two figures are finished in a dark reddish-brown or faux-bronze tone, and four figures are finished in a high-gloss, deep red lacquer-like color. The figures are presented in varying sizes and poses consistent with traditional iconography, emphasizing prominent bellies and joyous expressions. The largest red figure is depicted holding two sycee ingots above its head. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible.
