Another Great Auction 16th December
A pair of vintage novelty still banks constructed from lithographed tinplate. The banks feature an arched rectangular body set upon a flat base. One bank is predominantly red and the other is yellow. The front of each bank displays a faux clock face marked with Arabic numerals and the inscription TIME IS MONEY, surrounded by stylized floral ornamentation. The reverse side of each bank is decorated with a lithograph depicting a child figure pushing a carriage and holding a doll beneath an arch of cherries. The construction is typical of novelty tin savings banks, consistent with examples identified in market intelligence as Time Is Money still banks.
