Another Great Auction 16th December
The lot consists of a collection of five vintage mixed jewelry items, including four Scottish-style taxidermy grouse foot brooches and one figural carved brooch. The four taxidermy brooches feature natural fur and claws, consistent with the traditional ‘lucky’ grouse foot design often associated with Scottish kilt pins. The metal fittings vary: one brooch features a brass or bronze-toned cap, while the remaining three utilize silver-toned metal caps. These caps are accented with colored glass or simulated gemstones in dark red and orange/amber hues. The fifth item is a stylized figural brooch carved in the shape of a swan. This piece is crafted from an iridescent, striated natural material, likely horn or shell, displaying creamy white and light brown coloration. No manufacturer markings or hallmarks are visible on any of the pieces.
