Another Great Auction 16th December
This collection consists of five novelty sporting brooches, commonly identified in the market as Scottish Grouse Foot and related feather brooches. Four of the pieces are traditional grouse foot brooches, constructed from natural fur and claws, capped with mixed-metal settings. Three of the caps are silver-tone, and one is gold-tone. The metal caps are variously decorated with imitation gemstones, including clear rhinestones, a small amber-colored glass bead, and a large dark red oval glass stone set into the base. The fifth item is a plume feather brooch, featuring a cluster of multi-colored natural and dyed plumage set into a silver-tone metal mount. This mount is accented by a single amber-colored glass stone. All five items feature functional pin backs attached to the metal mounts.
