A collection of four cylindrical Metropolitan or police style whistles, attributed to J. Hudson & Co. (ACME) of Birmingham, England. The whistles are constructed of nickel-plated metal. All four items are marked MADE IN ENGLAND near the base. Specific inscriptions vary across the collection: one is marked POLICE, two are marked METROPOLITAN, and one features detailed markings including an arrow, the number 914, HUDSON’S PATENT, BARR STREET, and BIRMINGHAM. Three of the four whistles are fitted with attachment chains or key rings.
