The assembly consists of an antique pocket watch chain (Albert chain) constructed of thick, twisted curb links in a dark, aged base metal, likely bronze or brass. The chain features a T-bar fastener on one end and a swivel dog clip clasp on the other. It supports two distinct commemorative fobs. The first fob is a circular medallion featuring a blue enameled border surrounding a multi-colored enameled crest shield. This fob is inscribed “CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP CREWE 1927 NATIONAL” around the border and “NEVER BEHIND” on a central banner. The second, larger fob is a copper-toned token displaying an Irish harp surrounded by shamrocks, inscribed “THE IRISH HARP” on one side. The reverse is engraved with the inscription: “GOOD LUCK TYE WHER’ER YE BE, AT HOME ABROAD OR ON THE SEA”.
