Estimated price: £60 - £80

Buyer's premium:

A collection of six British campaign and service medals, court mounted together on a single ribbon bar. The group dates from the World War II and immediate post-war era, circa 1939 to 1952. The mounting style is consistent with professional court mounting. The group comprises three five-pointed campaign stars, constructed of bronze or gilt metal, each featuring the crowned Royal Cypher ‘GRI’ (George Rex Imperator). These stars represent various campaign theatres of WWII. The group also includes three circular medals, likely constructed of silver or cupronickel alloy, all bearing the profile of King George VI. Visible inscriptions on the circular medals confirm the period, reading “GEORGIUS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP:” (George VI by the Grace of God, King of all Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India). The medals are suspended from their distinctive colored campaign ribbons.
