A wide choker or collar necklace consistent with traditional Afghan Tribal or Kuchi jewelry styles. The piece is constructed on a black textile base and features a central band heavily ornamented with antique brass-tone metalwork arranged in linked segments. The central portion includes square and rectangular plaques inset with geometric designs utilizing multi-colored resin or glass inlay, primarily in red, blue, and green. The upper edge of the choker is finished with a decorative border of small red and white glass beads. The ends of the choker are secured by braided black cord ties. The lower edge is embellished with numerous silver-tone stylized metal discs or medallions suspended by linked rings. No visible hallmarks or maker’s marks are present.
