A single industrial-style miner’s safety lamp manufactured by the Hockley Lamp & Limelight Company. The lamp is constructed predominantly of polished brass, featuring a cylindrical body and a tiered circular base. A clear glass protective globe is secured by internal stanchions. The lamp has a vented domed top fitted with a looped carrying handle. Affixed to the main body is an oval identification plaque embossed with the text LAMP & LIMELIGHT COMPANY across the top and HOCKLEY – ANYAN across the bottom, with designated blank lines for COLLIERY NO. and SERIAL NO. The design is consistent with traditional coal mining safety equipment.
