A vintage miners safety lamp, identified as a Wolf Type F.S. pattern, manufactured by The Wolf Safety Lamp Co (W M Maurice) Ltd, Sheffield. The lamp is constructed from contrasting metals, featuring a dark steel or heavy base metal used for the upper chimney, handle, and lower bowl, contrasted with brass (or similar yellow metal) used for the mid-rings and the base band. The central light source is protected by a cylindrical glass enclosure and vertical metal guard bars. Visible engraved text encircling the brass base band confirms the maker and model: “THE WOLF SAFETY LAMP CO(WM MAURICE) LTD SHEFFIELD” and “WOLF TYPE F.S.”
