A pair of vintage hinged rectangular cases designed for holding cigarettes, consistent with Art Deco or mid-century styling. The cases feature covers constructed from early plastic material, likely celluloid or bakelite, designed to simulate highly mottled tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl finishes. The first case is set in a silver-toned metal frame and features an amber/orange-brown mottled plastic cover. The second case is set in a brass-toned metal frame and features a pale ivory/yellow mottled plastic cover. Both cases open to reveal interiors lined with matching plastic material, each fitted with two elastic retaining bands designed to secure contents. No manufacturer markings or inscriptions are visible on either item.
