A vintage wooden storage chest or valet box, designed in a Japanese or Tansu-inspired style. The construction features stained wood panels. The front includes a single lower storage drawer and is surmounted by a slatted tambour (roll-top) closure mechanism. The sides and the drawer face are decorated with geometric marquetry or inlay in a repeating diamond pattern. The tambour surface is decorated with a detailed pyrography or stained landscape scene depicting a prominent mountain, likely Mount Fuji, alongside traditional architectural elements. The object functions as a small storage unit, often marketed as a watch organizer or valet box based on market comparables. The tambour is secured by a carved wooden clasp and features a small metal pull handle. No manufacturer markings or inscriptions are visible.
