A pair of tribal style neckware pieces attributed to the Afghan Kuchi tradition. Each cuff is constructed on a dark textile backing and features braided tie closures. Both pieces are edged along the top and bottom with stitched rows of small white and red seed beads. The first cuff features gold-toned mixed metals set with rectangular and oval panels of colored glass or enamel in yellow, blue, purple, and green hues. It suspends dangles composed of silver-toned chains terminating in repoussé coin-like discs. The second cuff features silver-toned mixed metals utilizing a chain-link lattice design and accented with red enamel details, including a central round motif depicting a stylized cross or quadrant. This cuff suspends dangles consisting of clusters of small, dome-shaped jingle bells. No discernible text or maker’s marks are visible.
