A single Art Deco coal hod or scuttle, constructed of polished sheet brass or bronze. The container features a sharply defined geometric, faceted body, resting on four small, round brass feet. The piece includes a hinged, peaked lid adorned with two stepped, highly stylized geometric pull handles characteristic of the Art Deco period. Integrated brass carrying handles are present on the sides. Internally, the piece holds a removable liner made of steel or iron, designed for functional use. The container is approximately 1Ft tall. No visible manufacturer’s text or markings are discernible.
