A robust, vintage Modulation Meter Unit housed in a square-shaped, heavily worn black or dark green casing, consistent with mid-20th-century military or industrial test equipment. The front features a circular glass-covered dial marked “PERCENTAGE CARRIER” with a symmetrical scale ranging from 0 to 100, marked both +VE and -VE. The meter details current ranges from 500 microamperes (μA) up to 500 milliamperes (mA). Identifying marks on the rear plaque include “METER UNIT MODULATION 12599,” “REF. NO 10T/13209,” and “SERIAL NO. [Broad Arrow] 402.” The Broad Arrow symbol indicates British government or military provenance. A yellow sticker visible on the casing indicates the unit was “CALIBRATED NOV 71 BY COPENACRE” and requires recalibration before use.
