A Maioliche De Ruta Majolica ceramic ashtray, commemorating the Desert Air Force and Mediterranean Campaign during World War II. The circular piece is finished in an off-white cream glaze, decorated with hand-painted cobalt blue and yellow elements. The wide rim features raised, blue-green inscribed text reading “MEDITERRANEAN CAMPAIGN” and “DESERT AIR FORCE.” The center is decorated with a winged eagle motif positioned next to a shield bearing a yellow cross, flanked by the dates “1939” and “1945” in cobalt blue. The underside bears a partially visible factory stamp reading “MAIOLICHE DE RUTA, PERUGIA,” alongside handwritten blue inventory or production numbers “42” and “65.”
