Another Great Auction 29th January
A collection of nine decorative trinket boxes executed in the style of Fabergé eggs, attributed through market consensus to Kingspoint Designs. The lot consists of eight oviform boxes and one heart-shaped example. They are constructed of base metal with gold-tone and silver-tone plating, featuring polychrome enameling or painted resin in shades including deep purple, maroon, ivory, and pink. The surfaces are extensively embellished with faux pearls and colored and colorless paste jewels (rhinestones). All boxes are hinged and open to reveal interiors lined with cream-colored satin or fabric. Several boxes are mounted on ornate gilded metal stands, some fashioned as dolphins. One small gold-tone hinged box includes a visible internal paper label reading, “Authentic Quail Egg,” consistent with the style of these decorative items.
