Another Great Auction 29th January
The primary figure is a standing female statue executed in a Neoclassical style, finished in a pale white-to-gray patina. The figure is partially draped below the waist and holds a large sculpted garland or bouquet of roses across her chest. She stands upon a circular plinth. This model is commonly retailed under names such as ‘Flora’ or ‘Aphrodite’ garden statuary, consistent with modern reproductions seen in the market (e.g., Design Toscano). The second item, partially visible to the left, is the upper torso and arm of another heavily weathered statue. This secondary figure exhibits dense decorative detailing and is heavily covered in organic material, suggesting a different, possibly Asian or Indian devotional style. No discernible maker’s marks, signatures, or period stamps are visible on either of the two items.
