Another Great Auction 29th January
A pair of silver-toned commemorative coins modeled after Republic of China currency. The first coin is dated Year 15 of the Republic (1926) and features a portrait of Zhang Zuolin as Grand Marshal of the Army and Navy on the obverse, with a reverse showing a sunburst design within a wreath and the denomination ONE DOLLAR. The second coin is dated Year 16 of the Republic (1927) and depicts Zhang Zuolin in a plumed military hat as Grand Marshal on the obverse, with a reverse featuring crossed flags and the ONE DOLLAR denomination. These items are struck from metal with a silver-colored finish and are consistent with modern numismatic replicas.
