This cigarette case is constructed from silver and features a rectangular form with engine-turned guilloche decoration to the exterior panels, accented by a scrolling border. The interior displays a gilt finish and is struck with English hallmarks, including the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, the date letter r for 1916, and the maker mark W.H.S. A hand-inscribed number 1933 is visible on the inner surface. The case is designed with a hinged opening and a push-button clasp.
