A WWI French trench art 13.5” tall brass shell lamp base, associated with the Battle of Verdun and dated circa 1918. The piece is fashioned from a repurposed brass artillery shell casing, featuring a tapered and fluted central column situated between a flared top and base. The exterior is decorated with bands of circular, stippled bosses. The brass surface shows a heavy dark patina with areas of verdigris oxidation. The base is fitted with a vintage twisted fabric-covered electrical cord and a three-prong UK plug.
