Another Great Auction 29th January
A pair of silver-toned cast pewter figures produced by the Royal Hampshire Art Foundry. Each figure is mounted on a stepped dark wood-effect base. One figure depicts a soldier of the 24th Warwickshire Regiment in 1879, wearing a pith helmet and carrying a rifle. The second figure depicts a soldier of the South Staffordshire Regiment at Arnhem in 1944, equipped with paratrooper gear and a Sten gun. Both bases include an engraved metal identification plaque. The first plaque is inscribed The 24th Warwickshire Reg 1879 and the second is inscribed The South Staffordshire Regiment Arnhem 1944.
