Another Great Auction 29th January
A U.S. Navy Mark V diving helmet manufactured by Morse Diving Equipment Co. Inc. of Boston, Massachusetts. The helmet is constructed from a copper bonnet with brass fittings and a standard twelve-bolt breastplate. It features three circular viewports, including two side ports and one front port, all protected by integrated brass grilles. An oval brass identification plate is secured to the breastplate and is inscribed with the following: U.S. NAVY DIVING HELMET, MARK V, MORSE DIVING EQUIPMENT CO. INC. BOSTON MA. The plate further displays the stamped serial number 5019 and the date 9 19 29. The helmet is equipped with a side-mounted exhaust valve, an air inlet, and a communication connection.
