Another Great Auction 12th February
A collection of modern British and Commonwealth commemorative coins featuring gold-plated finishes and proof-like surfaces. The group includes a 2023 Tristan da Cunha half crown issued to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III, featuring a detailed cathedral window design on the reverse and the monarch’s effigy on the obverse. Also included are two 2014 Tristan da Cunha one-crown coins commemorating the 90th birthday and the 1952 accession of Queen Elizabeth II, both featuring selective color application to the royal portraits. The collection further contains a commemorative coin marking the 45th anniversary of Operation Market Garden (1944-1989), displaying a bridge motif and paratrooper imagery. Each coin is individually housed in a clear plastic protective capsule.
